Collaborative Design Process

While the new Honda uniform needed to align with their corporate colours and branding, it also needed to support staff with the flexibility to represent other car brands within dealership environments. Through a collaborative design process that was guided by staff feedback, navy was chosen as the primary uniform colour instead of black, offering a softer, more visually appealing contrast to Honda's iconic bright red. This colour scheme was integrated across separate ranges for all departments, with Customer-Facing, Parts and Services, and Technicians each receiving a distinct and fit-for-purpose range.

Versatility in Uniform Design

Apart from tailoring each Honda uniform range to suit specific roles, Total Image also accommodated the practical needs of Honda's diverse workforce. This included developing climate-appropriate designs to support performance and comfort in varying environments. For agents working in hotter regions such as Queensland and northern Western Australia, short-sleeve styles were introduced to ensure breathability and ease of movement. Meanwhile, for staff based in cooler, wetter parts of the country, weather-resistant outerwear was provided to create a protective yet professional appearance.

Flexibility in dress codes was another important factor in the uniform design. Recognising that customer-facing staff interact with clients in different ways, the collection offered a classic suit ensemble for a refined, professional appearance and a more relaxed option with timeless chinos and polos to suit a more casual, approachable style.

Take a look at the many ways Honda's customer-facing team can style their uniforms for both formal and casual looks.

Gradual and Seamless Rollout

Introducing a range for a large organisation was no small task, but Total Image approached it with strategy and care to ensure a smooth, company-wide transition. Understanding that change takes time, a phased rollout was implemented, beginning with Honda's executive team. This leadership-first approach allowed employees to see the uniform in action and the benefits, helping to build confidence and trust in the new look.

With a fast turnaround required, Total Image developed a custom online store to streamline the ordering process. The platform featured clear product descriptions to assist with selection and a tailored Returns and Exchanges policy to provide flexibility and peace of mind. This end-to-end solution helped ensure staff felt supported and empowered at every stage of the rollout.
