Total Image honours SCG heritage in all new uniform range launch.

SYDNEY, 24 November 2018 — Total Image, uniform designers and manufacturers today announced the launch of SCG’s new uniform range in the lead up to the New Year’s Test, the biggest sporting event on the NSW sporting calendar. As the Official designer and supplier of the formal and team reception uniforms for the Australian Winter Olympic Team earlier this year and the current suppliers to the SCG, the collaboration was a perfect fit.

Taking direction and inspiration from the SCG’s heritage, logo and colour palette. The signature design honours the stadium’s sporting history with subtle references to rugby, cricket and 1930’s fashion.  There is a consistent thread of core colours across the complete uniform range; primarily the green representing the grounds which clearly is the heart and soul of SCG; the bronze complementing the logo; and Navy to bring it all together in a classic look.

Known for their ability to tell a story through what people wear Total Image channelled a design that recognises the heritage of the SCG and its iconic brand. The range itself consists of a classic white, green and blue check shirt for customer service staff teamed with a classic navy textured suit pant. Designed as a mix and match collection, customer service has the option of layering for the cooler months with a bottle green wool blend pullover with navy elbow patches adding a bit of fashion fun.  To elevate the look for members and corporate areas within the stadium, customer service has a fitted custom bronze twilled sports blazer with bottle green trim and men will have a bottle green tie with a repeat subtle print of the SCG logo in bronze.  The understated tones of this look ensure the team are identifiable throughout the stadium with subtle contrast details and references to brand colours layered with an old school sporty feel.

Both crowd safety, grounds and maintenance team members will be wearing bespoke long sleeve polos inspired by the classic rugby jersey. This polo is a great showcase of the complete colour palette highlighting the bottle green base and contrasting off white and bronze stripes. Crowd safety’s jerseys most importantly, while following the brand colour palette, focuses on clear visibility to help staff stand out in big crowds.

The complete range is rounded off with fit for purpose outerwear and headwear for protection against the elements. The design of the range has been able to capture all the key elements of the stadium, grounds and heritage and convey them in a stunning new look for the SCG staff.

Total Image – CEO and Head Designer, Pamela Jabbour:

“Sport is such an integral part of Australian culture and the SCG is such an iconic representation of Sport in our country we really wanted to pay homage to its history and what this represents. We are absolutely thrilled with how the uniform range has come together and believe that everyone will be just as delighted on game day when all staff are in the new range. When designing a range, we at Total Image, feel it is not only important to consider employee feedback but also ensure the design truly reflects the brand and what it stands for and I believe we have achieved just that.”

The range was unveiled at a fashion show at the SCG on Tuesday, with staff showing off their new workwear for the first time at the venue.

Sydney Cricket and Sports Ground Trust CEO, Kerrie Mather:

“We launched our new uniforms with the tag “stitched in history” and that’s what it’s all about. Proud of our history and heritage, proud to host sports and fans of all kinds and from anywhere, and proud of our people.

“Our new uniforms will make their debut at the New Year’s Test, Sydney’s largest annual sporting event.

“But a big part of the reason for our new uniforms is because 2019 will be the SCG’s busiest since 1987 with the return of rugby league, rugby union and the A-League alongside a full season of Sydney Swans home games.

“Just as there are memorable moments in sport, there are also memorable moments in attending sport. We want fans to remember the great time they had at the SCG just as much as what happened on the field.”

The complete uniform range launched in time for the New Year’s Test, beginning on January 3 at the SCG.
